LGSUHSD Ranked #1 by Newsweek
The Los Gatos-Saratoga Union High School District has announced that they have been named the best school district in California by Newsweek Magazine.
Relying on statistics provided by the US Department of Education, SAT/ACT scores, teacher quality, and graduation rates, Newsweek Magazine analyzed every school district in California and determined that the Los Gatos-Saratoga Union High School District earned their number one ranking for the state of California.
“This is a tremendous honor for our school district, but it would not be possible without the amazing team members that support our students on a daily basis,” said Dr. Michael Grove, Superintendent, Los Gatos-Saratoga Union High School District. “Our commitment to prepare our students for long term success is something that our community has always known, and now, so does the rest of the nation.”
Focused on creating a community of learners, the Los Gatos-Saratoga Union High School District has, over the years, demonstrated a track record of academic success, support for student wellness, and a robust array of extra-curricular and co-curricular offerings. Students are scholars, athletes, musicians, artists, as well as global and community citizens. With a graduation rate of over 97%, the District has always made it their mission to develop leaders that will make positive contributions to the world, and to the communities of Los Gatos and Saratoga.
“Our mission is to create a safe and welcoming learning environment for all of our students. We believe this has led our schools to become the launchpad for a new generation of empathetic leaders who drive positive change locally and globally,” said David Guidry, President, LGSUHSD Board of Trustees. “As a district, we recognize that grades only tell one part of the story. That’s why our Board strongly supports student wellness and fully developing all of their talents."
