District Volunteer of the Year - Reva Cuthbertson

Congratulations and Thank You to Reva Cuthbertson - Volunteer of the Year
Saratoga High School is lucky to have so many parent volunteers who give of their time and energy to all of our students.  This year, we would like to recognize the efforts of Reva Cuthbertson, the mother of one of our CBI students, James Cuthbertson.  “Coach Reva” has volunteered for over 2 years in our CBI program coming every Wednesday to work with our PE Teachers to create a safe and challenging adaptive PE environment for our CBI students.

A CBI teacher, Ms. Bou noted, “Ms. Reva is patient and understanding. She is an expert in Adapted PE and is a wonderful support for the PE department and the CBI program. She is a team player and understands the school dynamics. Her priority is to support our students, helping our students engage and be a part of the class and school community. We appreciate her dedication to our program,CBI group school, and especially our student population.”

In addition, a CBI aide noted, “Reva has been a pivotal member of SHS Special Education and Physical Education community for the last 3 years. Offering her expertise and wisdom with regards to fitness and compassion of our youth with different abilities.  She is intelligent and creative, and has used her skills for these years during the year and offered modifications for adaptive fitness in the summer special ed classrooms as well.  Her energy is infectious and her dedication is mesmerizing! We cherish her dearly!

CBI Aide, Erin Alongi summarized it best by stating, “Mrs. Riva is loved by students and staff alike! She selflessly donates her time and knowledge of beneficial workouts to our CBI program every Wednesday. Rain or shine, Mrs. Riva is there with a warm smile ready to help enrich the lives of our special needs students. We all love her and are so grateful for all she does for our program!”  Thanks Ms. Reva for keeping our students safe, healthy, and happy!
