MetroEd Certificate of Appreciation

Los Gatos, November 18, 2022: The Los Gatos-Saratoga Union High School District (LGSUHSD) received a Certificate of Appreciation for Exemplary Partnership from the Metropolitan Education (MetroEd) District at Tuesday’s November 15, 2022 Board Meeting. MetroEd Superintendent Alyssa Lynch presented the certificate, the 1st of its kind, to LGSUHSD Superintendent Bill W. Sanderson, citing an incredible partnership with LGSUHSD staff and board members over the years.

“Of all the districts I have worked with, I would consider Los Gatos a model district and partner, and it has been illustrated time and time again,” shared Superintendent Lynch. During the presentation of this honor, she shared many examples of how LGSUHSD has been relentless in advocating for students that can benefit from MetroEd programs.

LGSUHSD currently has students from both Los Gatos and Saratoga High Schools participating in the MetroEd program taking classes in medical science, animation, culinary arts, and more. MetroEd serves 40 high schools throughout Santa Clara County, offering 23 high-quality career technical programs, including 19 University of California A-G approved classes.

“It’s such an incredible opportunity to have this partnership with MetroEd,” shared Bill W. Sanderson, Superintendent of Los Gatos-Saratoga Union High School District. “Students that participate in the program have the opportunity to participate in hands-on learning with real-world professionals outside of the traditional classroom setting. Seeing them flourish in these areas of their interest provides them with confidence and sets them up for a trajectory of success beyond high school.”
