Delores Perley to Join LGSUHSD as CBO

 I am excited to announce that, at Tuesday’s meeting of the LGSUHSD Board of Trustees, Ms. Delores Perley was named the new Chief Business Officer (CBO)/Assistant Superintendent for LGSUHSD, effective July 1, 2020.  Ms. Perley has over 20 years of experience in progressively responsible school business positions, including experience as a Chief Business Officer, and over nine years as Chief Financial Officer for a high achieving high school district. She has experience leading the business office team in the coordination and management of a $120 million general fund budget and $100 million in Proposition 39 bond funds for a public school district of over 10,500 students and 1,000 employees.  Throughout her career, she has navigated challenging financial times and economic recovery and implemented strategies to maximize resources to maintain the financial health of the school district.  


Ms. Perley’s interview and references revealed her leadership, collaboration, professional expertise, communication skills, approachability, and warmth.  Since 2000, she has held a variety of positions in the Business/Financial departments of the districts she served, including Santee, Lemon Grove, San Dieguito, and Evergreen.  In July 2009, she transitioned to Chief Financial Officer/Director of Financial Services.  Most recently, she has served Evergreen Union School District as their CBO, providing leadership of all business office services in order to provide optimal educational support for students and staff with the financial, human and technical resources available.  She provided direction and supervision of the Business Services team, including Finance, Purchasing, Risk Management, Nutrition Services, Transportation, Maintenance, Operations and Grounds. 


Delores holds various key certifications, including the California Association of School Business Officials (CASBO) CBO Certification, the Fiscal Crisis & Management Team Chief Business Official Mentor Program, the San Diego County Office of Education Finance Director and Small District Manager Academy, and the Classified Employee Development Academy.
