Canvas Student and Staff Support

All students and staff have an account in Canvas. Students and staff can access Canvas by logging in with their District Google account: https://lgsuhsd.instructure.com/login/saml or by clicking the Canvas icon in their Google Apps waffle.

If you have questions or need help, go to the main Canvas page and click the help button at the bottom. Tech support will respond as soon as possible.

Canvas Tips for Success

  • Students and parents are STRONGLY encouraged to use the browser, not the app to check for and submit assignments  The Canvas app delays course updates by 15-30 minutes.
     

  • Notifications should be turned on for at least: conversations, submission comments, assignments, announcements and due dates.
     

  • Students should connect their school Google Drive to Canvas
     

  • Students should take a Canvas Introduction module before school starts

  1. Open the Canvas app.

  2. Tap Find Your School or District.

  3. Type Los Gatos-Saratoga UHSD (Students) tap the full name appears in the search list

  4. Sign in using your School Google account.

Choose QR code login and take a photo of the QR code from your account

      

Canvas Parent Accounts

The Canvas URL for parents is: https://lgsuhsd.instructure.com/login/canvas

Parent Canvas Accounts

Canvas accounts can be used by parents to observe their student's courses.  Parent accounts are automatically created when your student is enrolled in our district. To login to your parent account for the first time:

1. Go to the Canvas URL for parents:  https://lgsuhsd.instructure.com/login/canvas
2. Click the forgot password link
3. Enter the email address you used as your contact email in Aeries when registering your student with LGSUHSD
4. Follow the instructions sent to your email by Instructure

Parents with multiple students will automatically have all of their students added to their Canvas Parent account. 
 

Canvas Parent App

Open the Canvas app.

  1. Tap Find Your School or District.

  2. Type Los Gatos-Saratoga UHSD tap the full name appears in the search list

  3. Enter your email address and password, and tap Login

  4. On the verification page, tap Log In.

  5. Your Canvas dashboard will open.
