Facilities Master Plan Development
At LGSUHSD, we believe that our schools should reflect the values, aspirations, and needs of the communities they serve. That’s why we’ve launched the development of a Facilities Master Plan, a forward-looking, community-driven roadmap that will guide facility improvements across our campuses for the next ten years.
The goal of the plan is to ensure our learning environments continue to support high-quality education, student well-being, and evolving instructional needs. It will help us make thoughtful, transparent decisions about how to use, maintain, modernize, and improve our school buildings in alignment with our educational mission.
Most importantly, this plan is being shaped with and by the community. We are engaging students, families, staff, and local stakeholders in meaningful conversations about what our schools need now and in the future. Their input will help define shared priorities, set clear goals, and create a plan that reflects our collective vision.
Once complete, the Facilities Master Plan will provide a clear, actionable framework to guide the work ahead, anchored in community values and built for long-term impact.
Phase 1: Discover
LGSUHSD is working with Anderson Brule Architects (ABA) to visit and document Los Gatos and Saratoga High Schools to understand the current conditions of the facilities, as well as engage the broader community through workshops and surveys.
Community Workshop Dates:
Los Gatos HS: June 11, 2025, 6-8 pm, Los Gatos Library
Saratoga HS: June 12, 2025, 6-8 pm, Saratoga Library
For those community members who were unable to attend an in-person meeting, the District prepared a digital survey; the survey closed July 18, 2025.
PHASE 2: ANALYZE (coming soon)
Based on input received from students, families, staff, and local stakeholders, key priorities will be identified and studied in more depth. A range of preliminary master plan concepts will be developed for review and input from community and school stakeholders.
Another community survey will be made available for input into this process coupled with additional engagement with staff and faculty
PHASE 3: SYNTHESIZE (coming soon)
In response to feedback received, refined master plan options will be developed to address current and future needs. These options will focus on improving student learning environments, campus facilities, safety, and infrastructure.
Additional community workshops will be scheduled to review and provide input on priorities that will help shape the final recommended options.
PHASE 4: RECOMMEND/ADOPT (coming soon)
Community and school input throughout the master plan process will culminate in final recommended options for each high school campus to align with the goals and priorities of the district and community. The Board of Trustees will consider the recommendations for adoption.
