Facilities Master Plan Development
At LGSUHSD, we believe that our schools should reflect the values, aspirations, and needs of the communities they serve. That’s why we’ve launched the development of a Facilities Master Plan, a forward-looking, community-driven roadmap that will guide facility improvements across our campuses for the next ten years.
The goal of the plan is to ensure our learning environments continue to support high-quality education, student well-being, and evolving instructional needs. It will help us make thoughtful, transparent decisions about how to use, maintain, modernize, and improve our school buildings in alignment with our educational mission.
Most importantly, this plan is being shaped with and by the community. We are engaging students, families, staff, and local stakeholders in meaningful conversations about what our schools need now and in the future. Their input will help define shared priorities, set clear goals, and create a plan that reflects our collective vision.
Once complete, the Facilities Master Plan will provide a clear, actionable framework to guide the work ahead, anchored in community values and built for long-term impact.
Phase 1: Discover
LGSUHSD is working with Anderson Brule Architects (ABA) to visit and document Los Gatos and Saratoga High Schools to understand the current conditions of the facilities, as well as engage the broader community through workshops and surveys.
Community Workshop Dates:
Los Gatos HS: June 11, 2025, 6-8 pm, Los Gatos Library
Saratoga HS: June 12, 2025, 6-8 pm, Saratoga Library
For those community members who were unable to attend an in-person meeting, the District prepared a digital survey; the survey closed July 18, 2025.
PHASE 2: ANALYZE The purpose of this phase is to consider the diverse aspects of the FMP in a more holistic manner in order to make our classroom learning environments more effective and our campuses more functional. During this phase, ABA and District staff have undertaken:
- Coordinated the launch of Community Survey #2 with District staff (closed January 30, 2026)
- Coordinated with the District’s bond advisory consultants on a proposed questionnaire
- Worked with the traffic consultant to review and incorporate recommendations into conceptual site master plans
- Refined site master planning concept options based on input from the District Leadership Team
- Developed proposed improvements to our wide range of learning space types
- Prepared draft space programs for potential new facilities
- Established a framework for rating the level of renovation needed for existing facilities
- Drafted narratives for proposed improvements to each campus’s exterior areas and utility systems
- Began to plan for Community Workshop #2
PHASE 3: SYNTHESIZE (Feb - March 2026)
We invite you to join us for an important community meeting as part of our Facilities Master Plan process.
Over the past several months, we have been gathering input and reviewing data to better understand the current conditions and needs across our schools. We are now at a key point in the process - and we want to hear from as many community members as possible before final recommendations are developed and brought to the Board of Trustees.
Purpose of the Meetings
At each meeting, we will:
- Share key findings from the Facilities Master Plan work to date
- Confirm and clarify community priorities
- Gather feedback to help shape recommendations before they are presented to the Board
Your voice matters and your feedback will help guide the direction of this work.
