Universal Meals Program
Universal Meals for All
Universal Meals “Free For All” Continues for 2024-25 School Year
As many of you may already know, the 2022-23 state legislation allows for one free breakfast
(served before school) and one free lunch for daily for each student. This policy will continue in the 2024-25 school year. Under the National School Lunch Program (NSLP), the district will be reimbursed by the state and federal governments for the meals served. While one breakfast (before school) and one lunch per student remain free, completing the Free or Reduced Meal Application helps secure funding for other student academic support areas. Submitting just one form ensures continued funding to support all students.
The application can be completed through your Linq Connect (previously Titan) Account
using this link: FREE MEAL APPLICATION.
The district takes great pride in its innovative model of introducing scratch-made, "restaurant-style" cooking in its kitchens. This initiative began as a pilot program in 2019 at Los Gatos High School and has been highly successful. Our dedicated and talented cafeteria staff have worked diligently to develop a program that is now considered the best in the state! While many other districts rely heavily on prepackaged, heat-and-serve processed foods, we are committed to forging ahead and continuing to cook real, fresh meals.
ONE FREE BREAKFAST (before school) and ONE FREE LUNCH will be available daily for each and every student.
- Students will still need to scan their ID cards
- Only NSLP meals qualify for reimbursement (ONE Breakfast and ONE Lunch)
- Ala Carte items may be available (snacks, beverages, etc) but do not qualify through the program and will need to be paid by the student through their Linq Connect (previously Titan) account or with cash (please note, the cafeteria does not give out change when paying with cash).
If you have any questions, please contact the district's Food Service Supervisor,Christine
Cogliandro at cgarciacogliandro@lgsuhsd.org
We look forward to a successful 2024-25 school year.
