All-State Choir, and All-National Honors Choir

Los Gatos, December 20, 2022: The Los Gatos-Saratoga Union High School District (LGSUHSD) is proud to announce that after a rigorous audition process for each selection, students from both Los Gatos and Saratoga High Schools were selected to be a part of the Santa Clara County Honor Band, the All-State Honor Choir, and the All-National Honor Choir.
The Santa Clara County Honor Band is run by the Santa Clara County Band Directors Association, a volunteer organization managed by high school band directors in Santa Clara County. With over 200 total auditionees, 23 students from the Los Gatos-Saratoga Union High School District were accepted.
The California All-State Honor Choir is part of the California Choral Directors Association (CCDA) and will perform at the CCDA 2023 All-State Choirs in February 2023. Student auditions included a solo performance, tonal memory, scales, and sight reading. Out of approximately 900 students, 14 LGSUHSD students were selected out of top students that participated in each of California’s regional honor choirs in November.
In addition, two Los Gatos High School students auditioned and were selected to be a part of the All-National Honors Choir and will perform at the National ACDA (American Choral Directors Association) Conference in February 2023 in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Join us in congratulating the following students:

The Santa Clara County Honor Band is the longest running honor band on the West Coast. This year, Santa Clara County Honor Band will be celebrating its 70-year history with a brand new commission by world-renowned composer and conductor Dr. Timothy Mahr (St. Olaf College), conducted by the composer himself.
“With so much talent within our schools and throughout the region and state, I am so proud of our students and staff for these public recognitions,” shared Bill W. Sanderson, Superintendent of Los Gatos-Saratoga Union High School District. “We are so fortunate to have a community that supports these students with strong enrichment programs in our schools.”
