Agenda

As a reminder, on May 3, 2011, the voters of LGSUHSD approved Measure A (renewed in 2016) – a parcel tax measure in the amount of $49/parcel to create revenue to:

  • Provide support for core academic programs, such as math, science, and English;
  • Attract and retain highly qualified teachers;
  • Maintain college and career preparation programs;
  • Provide classroom materials such as books and science laboratory equipment.

Measure A ballot language also specifically provided for “strict accountability measures, including independent citizen oversight.”

Duties of the Parcel Tax Oversight Committee will include:

  1. Meet at least twice per year, following Brown Act procedures.
  2. Ensure parcel tax (Measure A) revenue is spent only on appropriate, permissible projects and that no funds are used for prohibited expenses.
  3. Receive and review expenditure reports produced by the District to ensure that parcel tax revenue was expended in accordance with the purposes set forth in Measure A.
  4. Provide an annual report to the Governing Board.
