DACA

DACA

The Los Gatos - Saratoga Union High School District is committed to providing an environment that supports ALL students in an environment where they feel safe and welcome and that supports student wellness, balance and a sense of belonging (Strategic Plan).

Recent announcements regarding the federal Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) are NOT in alignment with that commitment and causes me, as Superintendent, concern about the impact on our students and the culture of equity and diversity we strive to achieve.

In addition, on February 28, 2017, the Board of Trustees passed Resolution 16-11AFFIRMING SUPPORT OF STUDENTS AND FAMILIES REGARDING IMMIGRATION ENFORCEMENT ACTIONS AT SCHOOL which states that all children in the United States are entitled to equal access to a public elementary and secondary education, regardless of their or their parents' actual or perceived national origin, citizenship, or immigration status; and that LGSUHSD schools and programs be considered sanctuaries for students to the fullest extent allowed by law,
