The NOVA Mission
The Nova* program offers students individualized attention and support in a small educational community setting. The program seeks to foster within students a strong sense of self and purpose as they prepare to return to the comprehensive high school, pursue post-secondary opportunities, or ready themselves for work.
Focus for 2009-10
Students and staff have been working on the practice and implementation of five "Habits of Mind" in the 2009-10 school year. These "Habits" represent the program's academic, social, and emotional values and serve as developmental goals for each student. Students are supported in the practice of these "Habits," and the entire NOVA community envisions an educational culture where the "Habits" are actively employed and serve as measures of success.
