Meet the Board

chang.jpgCynthia Chang:  President.  Term Expires: 2018 (Appointed in lieu of election 1998 and 2002 and reelected 2006 and 2010) is a CPA and holds an MBA from California State University, Los Angeles.  She was a member of the Saratoga Union School District Board from 1994-98 before serving on the high school board.  She also serves as the California School Boards Association Region 20 delegate.  She is past President and current Vice President of the Asian Pacific Islander School Board Members Association.  

 

Ms. Chang represented the LGSUHSD Board on the MetroEd Board of Trustees from 2004-2015 and is continuing to serve as Board Liaison on the LGSUHSD Budget Advisory Committee and Audit Committee.  She is active in the community, serving as the BSA Troop 508 Committee Chair for six years and as the Co-Chair of Saratoga's Memorial Day Observance event for the past three years (2013-2015).  She was recognized as Woman of the Year for the California Assembly's 24th District in March 2010 for her decades of service to the community. 

 

 


 

Mano.jpgRobin Mano, Trustee. Term Expires 2018 (Appointed in lieu of election 2014) has been a volunteer for our schools for 17 years, serving as President of the Blossom Hill Elementary School Home and School Club, President of the Los Gatos Education Foundation, Chair of the 2008 LGUSD District Measure E Parcel Tax campaign, President of the Los Gatos High School Home and School Club, Co-Chair of the 2011 LGSUHSD Measure A Parcel Tax campaign, Board Member of the New Millennium Foundation and Co-Chair of the 2014 LGSUHSD Measure E General Obligation Bond campaign.   She has a bachelors degree from Bryn Mawr College.  She and her family have lived in Los Gatos for 22 years.  Her two children have benefited from attending our local public schools and one is a graduate from Los Gatos High School.  

Doug Ramezane.jpgDouglas Ramezane :  Trustee.  Term expires, 2018 (Elected November, 2010) had been a high school educator for 38 years, prior to his retirement in 2009.  He served as Assistant Principal at Los Gatos High School from 1998-2005 and then as Principal from 2005-2009, and was the lead LGHS administrator for the school’s Measure B renovation.  Mr. Ramezane now mentors new school administrators through the New Teacher Center in Santa Cruz.

 He has been active in the Los Gatos Lions Club for the last ten years and served on the New Millennium Foundation Board for LGHS for four years.  He currently serves as the Board Representative to KCAT and Liaison to the Parcel Tax Oversight Committee.  He has three grown children, two of whom are local teachers.

rrossi.jpgRosemary Rossi, Vice-President.  Term Expires: 2016, (Elected in November 2012, 2008, 2004)  is a retired high school science teacher.  She has been active in public education since 1997 serving as a school board member and president of the Home and School Association in Lower Merion, Pennsylvania.  Ms. Rossi is the parent of four children, three of whom graduated from Saratoga High School.  She has served as co-president of the Saratoga High School PTSA, a member of the PTSA Board, member of the Saratoga School Site Council and as co-president of Saratoga-Los Gatos-Monte Sereno Newcomers Club.  She serves as a Board Representative on the District’s Budget Advisory Committee and Health Benefits Advisory Committee.

Katherine_0033_web.jpgKatherine Tseng : Clerk. Term Expires: 2016 (Elected November, 2012) has been active in our school community for fourteen years and has served as Co-President for the Saratoga High School PTSO, Redwood Middle School PTA, Argonaut Elementary School PTA, Saratoga Education Foundation, Music Boosters, Saratoga High School Foundation and as a member of the Executive Board of Saratoga High School Sports Boosters.  She has served for six years on the advisory board of the Saratoga Union School District and for the past year on the LGSUHSD Superintendent's Advisory Council.  She was one of the co-chairs of the LGSUHSD Parcel Tax, Measure A campaign - successfully leading the passage of the first ever district parcel tax.  She currently serves as the Liaison to the District Audit Committee.  She holds an M.A. in Statistics and has 15 years business experience as an actuarial consultant.  She is the parent of two children, one an SHS graduate and one a current student of Saratoga High School.

 

Nathon Chin is proud to be the ASB Board Representative at Saratoga High School for the 2016-2017 school year. Nathon will be a junior next year and he is excited to take on the responsibilities of Board Representative. He has been part of his school’s leadership for the past two years. It has been really rewarding for him to be involved in school spirit activities such as Homecoming, Spring Fling, and running fundraisers for his class. He played both water polo and baseball during his freshman and sophomore years.  He is passionate about both sports, having played baseball since a young age and starting water polo in his freshman year. Nathon is currently a star ranked Boy Scout in troop 581 and has acquired many important traits from this program such as honesty, courage, courtesy, and leadership. Nathon is also currently spending every Sunday volunteering at the Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital. The experience gives him good exposure to a working environment and teaches him about the medical field. Nathon looks forward to representing his school and fellow students in the upcoming board meetings. Nathon likes to watch TV, play ping pong, try new foods, and hang out with his friends during his spare time.

 

Nat Redfern is a Senior at Los Gatos High School and is honored to be able to serve as a student board representative for the 2016-2017 school year. Nat became involved in student government when he founded the Los Gatos video announcements team, and was then elected as the Junior class president.  Now as the ASB president, he looks forward to making a positive impact at LGHS.  Nat is an avid runner, and you can see him around town in his bright orange varsity cross country & track jersey. He is a team lead for the annual TEDxLosGatosHighSchool event, and loves to read and spend time with friends. "
