Cynthia Chang Cynthia Chang, Member, Term Expires: 2010 (Appointed in lieu of election 1998 and 2002 and reelected 2006) is a self-employed CPA.  She holds an MBA from California State University, Los Angeles.  Mrs. Chang was a member of the Saratoga Union School District Board from 1994-98 and served as Treasurer for both the Los Gatos-Saratoga Joint Union High School District and the Saratoga Union Elementary School District school facility measures campaigns (1997 and 1998).  She is Past President of the Asian Pacific Islander School Boards Members Association and serves on the Executive Board of “Building Bridges, a Saratoga city-wide project.  Mrs. Chang represents the Board on the MetroEd Board of Trustees, the District’s Diversity Task Force and serves as a Board Liaison to the District’s Technology Committee and Audit Committee.  She is on the Board for the Saratoga High School Foundation.
Roger M. Mason, Member, Clerk, Term Expires:  2010 (Elected November, 2006) is an attorney and a shareholder with the law firm Sweeney, Mason, Wilson and Bosomworth in Los Gatos.  His three children have attended school in both the Los Gatos Union School District and the Los Gatos – Saratoga Union High School District.  Mr. Mason is active in the local community, serving on various boards including the Los Gatos-Saratoga Community Education and Recreation Board and as the President of the Los Gatos Lions Club.  He also represents the District as a member of the KCAT Board.  Mr. Mason currently serves as a Board Liaison to the District’s Budget Advisory Committee.
Jackie Schmidt-Posner Rosemary Rossi,Vice President, Term Expires: 2008, (Elected in November, 2004) a retired high school science teacher.  She has been active in public education since 1997 serving as a school board member and president of the Home and School Association in Lower Merion, Pennsylvania.  Mrs. Rossi is the parent of four college students, three of whom graduated from Saratoga High School.  She is a past co-president of the Saratoga High School PTSA, past member of the PTSA Board, past member of the Saratoga School Site Council and past co-president of Saratoga-Los Gatos-Monte Sereno Newcomers’ Club.  She serves as a Board Liaison to the District’s Budget Advisory Committee, the Audit Committee and the District’s Health Benefits Advisory Committee.
Michele H. van Zuiden, Member, Term Expires: 2010, (Elected in November 2006), is a Senior Advisor for Health Technology Center and has 25 years of experience as a business executive.  She holds an MBA from UCLA and has been a resident of Los Gatos and Monte Sereno for 22 years.  She is the parent of a Los Gatos High School student and a college student who is a graduate of Los Gatos High School.  Ms. Van Zuiden is on the Board of the Los Gatos High School New Millennium Foundation; served as the Endowment Chair for the Los Gatos Education Foundation and is a Court Appointed Child Advocate in Santa Clara County.  Ms. van Zuiden represents the Trustees to the Santa Clara County School Boards’ Association and serves as a Board Liaison to the District’s Health Benefits Advisory Committee. 
Lorrie Wernick Lorrie Wernick, Ed.D, President, Term Expires: 2008, (Elected November, 2004 and 1996 and appointed in lieu of election November, 2000) is a thirty year resident of the District and is the  parent of three children, all of whom graduated from Los Gatos High School.  She is currently the Principal of William Regnart Elementary School.  She has served as Coordinator of Special Education for the Cupertino Union School District; Director of Special Education for Loma Prieta School District and Principal of C.T. English and Thomas Russell Middle Schools.  Dr. Wernick is past President of the Lakeside Community Foundation and past Chairman of the Board of Los Gatos-Saratoga Observation Nursery School and served as Vice President of the Board of San Jose Chamber Music Society for eight years.  Dr. Wernick also represents the District on the Board of the Institute of Computer Technology (ICT). 
Marlana Shile

Alec Brasier, an honors student in the Junior Class at Los Gatos High School, has been participating in student government since elementary school. He is also a staff member of El Gato, the school’s student newspaper, and Reality Check, a publication designed to help students cope with difficult topics as well as give the community a truthful insight into many student realities. Alec is involved with Speech & Debate, KEY Club, Political Science & Current Events Club and other school clubs. He spent two years with the rocketry team both times making the top one-hundred finalists nationwide in the Team America Rocketry Challenge, an activity topical to the basic physics of rocketry, placing seventeenth out of seven hundred and twelve participants. Alec also dedicates hours to community service, is employed in Los Gatos, and enjoys scuba diving, playing golf, and martial arts. He enjoys being the Los Gatos Student Representative to the Board of Trustees with utmost commitment.

 

Lawrence Choi, a senior at Saratoga High School, is an active member of several different organizations at Saratoga High School. He served as the Drum Major for the Saratoga High School Marching Band during the 2006-2007 season, and will continue to serve during the 2007-2008 season. Lawrence is also a proud member of Saratoga High's Wind Ensemble and Jazz Band. In addition, Lawrence serves as President of the Interact Community Service Club, Public Representative for the Diversity Task Force, and the 2008 Class Representative. In 2007, Lawrence co-founded and served as a Co-President for his Business for Life Club, which has rallied support for a new business class for the 2007-08 school year at Saratoga High School, "Introduction to Business". Lawrence also served as a captain of the Saratoga High School Basketball team during the 2006-2007 season, and loves to play all kinds of sports during his free time. Lawrence is honored and excited to represent and serve Saratoga High School as the Board Representative for the 2007-2008 school year.
